rePROs Fight Back is honored to have Preston Mitchum as a Senior Fellow. During our time together Preston has brought his keen insight and strategic expertise to a number of projects including: our podcast in an episode “Watch Out for These SCOTUS Cases Threatening LGBTQI+ Health and Rights”, forthcoming briefs on the administration’s attacks on LGBTQI+ rights and why DEI matters no matter the president, and a dynamic and thoughtful presentation and discussion for our board, staff, and fellows on the Trump administration's efforts to rollback gender and LGBTQI+ programs. Preston’s work always centers those who are marginalized and is engaging. Preston is firm in his values around reproductive justice, DEI, and LGBTQI+ rights and invites you to think meaningfully about your own and stand firm in them. I look forward to continuing to work with Preston in the future and wholeheartedly recommend working with Preston to anyone seeking to promote an agenda centered in justice.

Preston Mitchum joined us for a wide-ranging conversation, “Pride is an Intersectional Protest,” the title of which came in part from the social justice work he’s organized, in particular around the treatment of racialized people and trans people at a popular Washington, DC LGBTQ+ bar. Facilitated by an intersectional pair of associates, it provided an opportunity to learn about Preston’s unique career trajectory as a lawyer, activist, policy strategist, and reality tv star. As a cisgender man with multiple marginalized identities, it was also illuminating to learn how Preston engages as an ally to the trans and gender nonconforming community. The breadth of Preston’s experience really lent itself to a firmwide audience obtaining an actionable takeaway to support our firm’s culture of inclusion.

Preston offered an outstanding presentation to our team in honor of Pride Month entitled "More than a Rainbow: Practicing Meaningful Allyship with a Racial Justice Lens." His talk was both deeply insightful and refreshingly actionable, inviting us to move beyond performative gestures and into authentic, sustained allyship that centers intersectionality. Preston’s ability to weave together the histories and lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ communities challenged us to ensure we approach our work with empathy and intentionality. He didn’t just present information—he shared a call to action that left our team feeling empowered and inspired not just during Pride Month, but every day. His presentation has sparked meaningful conversations and ongoing reflection within our organization. We are truly grateful for his leadership and perspective.

In partnership with the NFL, the Washington Commanders invited Preston Mitchum to lead our Pride Month “Exchange Dinner”—and he truly exceeded all expectations. Preston has a thoughtful presence, magnetic energy, and natural ability to foster meaningful dialogue; he brought the room together in a powerful way. His guidance was genuine, entertaining, and impactful, setting the tone for a memorable evening. We’re excited about the possibility of collaborating again in the future.

The Washington Commanders, in collaboration with the National Football League, approached Preston Mitchum to host our "Exchange Dinner" during Pride Month, and he delivered beyond expectations. Preston was engaging, insightful, and dynamic—seamlessly guiding the conversation with warmth, authenticity, and intention. An incredible host for an unforgettable evening and we are looking forward to working together again.

We sought Preston's expertise for a DC-based community engagement project. Preston was a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and collaborative partner and embodied the values of equitable partnership in his role. We were lucky to have his expertise in this project to ensure that we met our goals effectively and in a justice-oriented manner. We look forward to working with Preston again in the future!

I recently sought out Preston to craft a training that included an intersectional overview of LGBTQ+ justice and connections to reproductive justice. I love how he designed the materials so that the training really felt tailored to the needs of my group. He managed to cover a range of issues and connect the dots between them in a relatively short but very effective presentation. Preston is an engaging facilitator who brings warmth, knowledge, and a critical lens to the issues - I look forward to working with him in the future.
