We contracted with Preston to facilitate a session at our org-wide staff retreat following his previous work with Civic Nation. His session, 'Power, Partnership, & People: Strategies for Managing Up, Down, & Across' was a dynamic and transformative highlight of the Civic Nation retreat. His expert facilitation guided our staff through an insightful exploration of how power, identity, and communication fundamentally shape our ability to lead from any seat. The session was overwhelmingly successful, strengthening our capacity to manage complex relationships in every direction. In review of the post-retreat survey results, our staff walked away equipped with concrete strategies for building trust, practicing empathy, and powerfully turning everyday interactions into opportunities for collaboration and profound growth. We look forward to working with him again on future projects.

Penn State Dickinson Law hosted Preston Mitchum as a speaker for Constitution Day. The program focused on the state of LGBTQIA+ people and rights in the United States. We invited Preston for his expertise on the subject, lived experiences, and legal perspective. He delivered heartfelt remarks that challenged and resonated with attendees, an impressive balance that promoted critical engagement. Preston was thoughtful in his responses to questions and genuinely interested in our community's views. I found his participation intentionally intersectional and insightfully provocative in unexpected ways. Our law school would love to host him again, as our students especially enjoyed meeting him. Preston Mitchum joined us for a wide-ranging conversation, “Pride is an Intersectional Protest,” the title of which came in part from the social justice work he’s organized, in particular around the treatment of racialized people and trans people at a popular Washington, DC LGBTQ+ bar. Facilitated by an intersectional pair of associates, it provided an opportunity to learn about Preston’s unique career trajectory as a lawyer, activist, policy strategist, and reality tv star. As a cisgender man with multiple marginalized identities, it was also illuminating to learn how Preston engages as an ally to the trans and gender nonconforming community. The breadth of Preston’s experience really lent itself to a firmwide audience obtaining an actionable takeaway to support our firm’s culture of inclusion.

Preston offered an outstanding presentation to our team in honor of Pride Month entitled "More than a Rainbow: Practicing Meaningful Allyship with a Racial Justice Lens." His talk was both deeply insightful and refreshingly actionable, inviting us to move beyond performative gestures and into authentic, sustained allyship that centers intersectionality. Preston’s ability to weave together the histories and lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ communities challenged us to ensure we approach our work with empathy and intentionality. He didn’t just present information—he shared a call to action that left our team feeling empowered and inspired not just during Pride Month, but every day. His presentation has sparked meaningful conversations and ongoing reflection within our organization. We are truly grateful for his leadership and perspective.

In partnership with the NFL, the Washington Commanders invited Preston Mitchum to lead our Pride Month “Exchange Dinner”—and he truly exceeded all expectations. Preston has a thoughtful presence, magnetic energy, and natural ability to foster meaningful dialogue; he brought the room together in a powerful way. His guidance was genuine, entertaining, and impactful, setting the tone for a memorable evening. We’re excited about the possibility of collaborating again in the future.
